CHICO — A forum on Valley’s Edge will take a new form with the event no longer affiliated with Chico State.
Smart Growth Advocates will host the panel discussion “We’re STILL ON the Edge,” which will take place Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. in a room the group reserved at Bell Memorial Union (room 309). Previously, the university’s Geography and Planning Department organized “Going Over the Edge” and set the forum for Feb. 7 Colusa Hall — but, after consulting state election law, canceled the presentation.
Measure O and Measure P on the primary ballot for Chico voters will decide whether the Valley’s Edge Specific Plan moves forward. Smart Growth Advocates is one of the local groups opposing the plan.
Thursday’s announcement said the new forum retains the intent to “bring together voices of expertise in land use and planning to review the Valley’s Edge plan and discuss alternatives.”
The event remains free and open to the public.
