Get a free slice of cold watermelon from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday during the annual Slice of Chico event downtown.
A portion of Third Street, between Main Street and Broadway will be closed on Saturday only between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Free slices of cold watermelon will be served to the public both days courtesy of ProPacific Fresh.
The family-friendly day to explore downtown Chico shops and eateries, with special offers and bargains offered by some businesses. Also entertainment, refreshments, watermelon-themed menu items by some eateries, face painting, pie eating, watermelon rolling contest, music by local radio and other activities.
