CHICO — As Christmas rolls around, some people are not into cooking Christmas meals, so here is a list of restaurants in Butte County which are open Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, or both.
Black Bear Diner at 1990 E. 20th St. will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Day, 530-965-5857. Reservations are not accepted.
Cozy Diner, located at 1695 Mangrove Ave., 530-895-1195 will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve with the regular menu. Reservations are only accepted for large groups.
Denny’s Restaurant at 675 Manzanita Ave., 530-345-1146, will maintain its 24-hour kitchen as usual on Christmas Day and Eve.
Ginger’s Restaurant, at 2201 Pillsbury Road, will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Christmas Eve with the regular menu. Take-out is only available Christmas Day. The restaurant takes reservations for Christmas Eve dinner. The phone number is 530-345-8862.
Jack’s Family Restaurant, at Sixth and Main streets, will serve from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas Eve, 530-343-8383. Reservations are not accepted.
Sin of Cortez at 2290 The Esplanade, 530-879-9200, will be open both on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will serve breakfast only.
The Pour House at 855 East Avenue will be open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day the restaurant will be open from noon to 8 p.m. and there will be a special Christmas meal served which includes roast turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, honey glazed carrots and a dinner roll for $29.99. The restaurant is taking reservations for both days at 530-893-3000.
Oroville
Denny’s Restaurant at 2470 Oro Dam Blvd., 530-532-1624 will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the full menu for dine-in, take-out and delivery. It is a 24-hour open restaurant.
Cow Cafe at 935 Oro Dam Blvd., 530-533-9332 will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Eve with a Christmas dinner special of a prime rib or ham steak dinner.
Feather Falls Casino restaurants, at 3 Alverda Drive, 530-533-3885 will be open. The Feather Falls Brewing Company will open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve. The buffet is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days as well. The buffet dinner costs $32.99 and will serve prime rib and ham and all of the sides and dessert. There is a 24 hour deli open with pizza and other fast foods being served.
Gold Country Casino, at 4020 Olive Highway, 800-334-9400, has two restaurants open. Game Time will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Christmas Eve. Game Time will offer a turkey dinner. The Acorn Cafe will serve a prime rib special and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Eve.
Corning
Rolling Hills Casino restaurants, at 2655 Everett Freeman Way in Corning, 530-528-3500, will have four restaurants open. The steakhouse opens at 4 p.m. Christmas Day. Rocking Brews has regular hours. Fat Burger opens at 11 a.m. Doubledown is open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. No reservations accepted.
