What the heck is wrong with the people insisting that the Chico City Council adopt a position in favor of either Palestine or Israel? Don’t these people understand that this is a local city council with absolutely no authority or influence on national and international issues?
This is as idiotic as the old “Nuclear Free Zone” initiative. We actually have a local ordinance that says, to the best of my recollection, ” Citizens are not allowed to produce, test, maintain or store nuclear weapons or parts.” Really? Wow, that is really a pointless resolution. Of course, it’s no more idiotic or pointless than the current resolution that is being demanded — not suggested but demanded — by local citizens with absolutely no concept of what is appropriate.
It is getting really embarrassing to be from Chico. I don’t normally write to the E-R but lately I have been so boggled by the local population that I find it hard to remain silent.
