MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (AP) — Police are searching for a man they say robbed and abducted an Uber driver, forcing her into the trunk of her car.
Police in Chesterfield say the driver picked up a man about 8 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart. Police say that during the ride, the man took out a gun and forced the driver into the trunk.
According to police, the man then drove the vehicle and made several stops, demanding money from the driver. At one point, authorities say the man used the woman’s debit card to obtain funds from a bank. He later fled with her purse and cellphone. The woman, who was unharmed, later called police.
