Chico >> A new board chair has been appointed to Chico-based Northern California National Bank.

According to a press release from the board, Steve Gonsalves of Chico has been appointed chair, and Todd Lewis formally placed as president and chief executive officer.

Gonsalves has been on the board since the bank’s inception and one of the bank founders.

Lewis has been interim president since April, replacing long-time president and CEO John Lucchesi. Lews has been the bank’s chief financial officer since 2007.

A press release issued about the changes indicated that Lucchesi “remains dedicated to the bank and will continue to assist the bank as a board members and an adviser.”

Lucchesi also helped found the bank, and will continue to call on prospective customers, according to the press release.

The bank reports an increase in income in its nine-month report ending Sept. 30, the release stated. The bank reported pretax net income of $1,156,000, a 25 percent increase from the first nine months of 2014.

After tax net income was $732,000 for the same period, a 26 percent increase from the same period in 2014.
