OAKLAND — A 30-year-old man fatally shot Sunday night during a confrontation at an East Oakland dominoes game was identified by police Tuesday as Ira Wright Jr.
The shooting happened outdoors at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of 76th Avenue near where Wright lived, He died at the scene.
Police said Wright was playing dominoes with some people when he got into a confrontation with another man and was shot. No one else was hurt and the suspect fled before police arrived.
Police were trying to determine if the shooting stemmed from an argument over the game or if it was prompted by something else.
No one has been arrested yet for the killing.
