Does Carli Lloyd have a political future after her time leading Team USA as a world soccer power?
The entire World Cup Team USA met Tuesday with President Barack Obama, who noted that Lloyd’s Wikipedia page was briefly updated to name her “President of the United States” after she scored a hat trick in the first 16 minutes of the 2015 World Cup finale against Japan.
“Which, by the way, the job is about to open up,” Obama said, smiling. Lloyd returned the humor, saying she was up for the job.
The president countered saying “what’s another candidate?”
“I guarantee Carli knows more about being President than some of the folks who are running,” he said. “But that’s a whole other conversation.”
