The Butte Creek Men’s Golf Club held a 4-Man Shamble, 2 Net Best-Ball format for its February tournament this past weekend.
A total of 76 players participated in spite of the cart path only restriction. The heavy rain and strong winds earlier in the week played havoc on the course as well as in the north state in general. The superintendent and the grounds crew of all the local golf courses have been extremely busy trying to get their courses cleaned up of down trees and fallen debris.
As an added note, 12 members of the Chico State Wildcat men’s and women’s golf teams came out early Saturday morning to clean up and rake all 47 bunkers on the course, prior to the start of the tournament. Your efforts were much appreciated. Thank you!
The field was divided into three flights. In a shamble format, all players tee off, hit their second shot from the tee shot selected and play their own ball from there on. Players were required to use at least three of their own tee shots. The teams could compete on either Saturday or Sunday of their choosing.

Don Krysakowski scored his first ever hole-in-one on the 12th hole at Butte Creek. Krysakowski selected a 5 hybrid for his perfect 140-yard tee shot, as attested by his playing companions, Tom Haber, Mike Lim and Dave Schwartz.
