Canyon Oaks Country Club

The turnout was small the day before Thanksgiving, but the camaraderie, as always, remained the same for the Canyon Oaks Women’s Golf Club. The game was a 3-player, “Step Aside Scramble.” The team of Shelley Carney, Gina Davis and Cathy Edgar finished in first place with a score of 68. Joan Wagoner won the closest to the pin contest on No. 14.

Second flight low gross: Sandy Anderson, 102. Low net was a three-way tie between Jolene Nixon, Cindy Bell and Eleanor Calver at 77. Third flight low gross: Susan Pease, 111. Spectacular shots

John Olsen eagled the par 4, 8th hole at Butte Creek last week during a Senior Men’s Club outing. After a somewhat errant tee shot into the trees lining the right side of the fairway, Olsen followed-up up with a 95-yard, punch 7-iron, under some limbs, over the bunker and into the cup, sealing the win over the opponents. Observing Olsen retrieve the ball from the cup, and much to their delight, were Don Krysakowski, Cliff Kitayama, Tom Beckman and Ed Anderson.
