Chris Click, an assistant football coach who served the past nine years as defensive coordinator at Chico High, has been hired as the Panthers’ new head coach.

Click replaces Jason Alvistur, who stepped down last month after leading the Panthers’ football program for the past 15 seasons.

“I am thrilled to continue working with the Chico High School family as the head varsity football coach,” Click said. “I am committed to building on the tradition of excellence that Chico High football is known for and am excited to work with our student-athletes to achieve their full potential.”

An assistant coach since 2013, Click took over as defensive coordinator in 2015.

Chico High Principal Doug Williams said “We are confident that Coach Click’s leadership will bring a new level of energy and excellence to our football program. His passion for the game and dedication to our student-athletes make him the perfect fit for Chico High School.”
