MYRNA SMITH In loving memory of Myrna Smith Myrna Smith, born on October 24, 1939, to Verla and Max Pfaffinger in Modesto, California, peacefully passed away with her husband by her side, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories. Myrna’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit and a generous heart that touched the lives of those around her. At the age of four, Myrna’s family relocated to Hughson, California, where she met her lifelong friend Mary Reece. In 1949, she moved to Healdsburg, completing her high school education. Myrna’s professional life led her to become a legal secretary. In 1968, fate brought Myrna to Chico, where she encountered her life companion, Bill. The two were united in marriage in 1971, and had an amazing 53 years together. Myrna’s enduring friendship with Mary Reece, spanning over 80 years, was a testament to the depth of her connections and the loyalty she held dear. Mary and her family occupied a special place in Myrna’s heart. Following her retirement, Myrna found joy in sharing her passions at the Durham Sewing Studio, teaching classes to friends and fellow enthusiasts. Her talents were boundless, transforming bolts of fabric into beautiful garments and creating handmade gifts that radiated love and thoughtfulness. Myrna’s culinary skills were equally impressive. Her holiday care packages, eagerly anticipated by her grandchildren, featured handmade items and delectable treats, a testament to her creativity and love. Myrna’s canine companion, Lexi, held a special place in her heart. She even crafted homemade dog treats to show her love. Lexi, like all who knew Myrna, will miss her deeply. Myrna is survived by her devoted husband, Bill, and her nephew Eric Pfaffinger (Tina). She is also survived by two daughters and their families from Bill’s first marriage: Khris Ramirez (Scott) and children Kyler and Luke Ramirez, as well as Kerry Peter (Jeff) and her children Makenna, Ella, and Jake Peter. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Verla Pfaffinger, and her brother Max Pfaffinger. A beautiful soul has left this world, and Myrna will be greatly missed. Her ashes will find their final resting place alongside her family members at the Chico Cemetery. May she rest in eternal peace, her memory living on in the hearts of those she touch.
